From September 2006 I will be running music
workshops in:
-
Singing
-
Songwriting
-
Performance
The workshops will be tailored for beginners,
intermediate and advanced players to develop and discover their inner
voices.
I am aware that people will be of different abilities
and have different requirements. I have tailored three packages which
will suit most people’s needs.
Package 1: ‘The Weekend Away’
The intensive weekend workshops will be aimed at young
professionals who need a break from the rat race, and towards parents
with children and anyone with an interest in music.
The workshops will be set up in conjunction with local
hotels and crèches where the clients can board and have their children
looked after if they are coming from London for the weekend, for
example.
The weekend workshops will also be aimed at local
music students/musicians and anyone interested in music but looking
for a deeper insight into songwriting and composition. The workshops
will allow more time for individuals to develop their compositional
voices.
Prices will be £120 per person for a two day weekend
music course.
A typical workshop:
Saturday day: 10-1: Performance workshop/get to know each other
session
Lunch 2-3
Saturday afternoon: 3-6: songwriting the basics
(Students do exercises)
Sunday day: 10-1 Put members into twos and get them to write a mini
tune
Sun lunch: 1-130
Sunday eve: 130-430 teach some music theory and improvisation
techniques
Package 2: ‘The Brightoner’
The weekday evening courses will be aimed at local
music students/musicians and anyone interested in music. These courses
will be run for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. The
weekly workshops will allow for a deeper exploration of composition
and singing, thereby allowing more time for the individuals to develop
their musical voices.
I will charge £100 for a weekly 90 minute workshop
over 8 weeks.
Package 3: ‘Music Workshops in the Education Sector’
These workshops will be run in conjunction with the
East Sussex County Council Music Service.
These workshops can be offered as packages which can
be tailored to the needs of the particular school/education bodies
including: community action projects, summer schools, programmes,
after school clubs, adult education workshops, university departments:
Single workshops: £200-400 per day (depending on the
schools budget and requirements, including any travel
costs/equipment hire/administration costs)
Workshop ‘bundles’ x 6 spread over a year or term:
£1500
Music workshops and a concert where I can
perform relevant material for the students: £400-800
